Below, the forest floor rustles as her human puppets move with sickening, bone-cracking precision. She looks down, her turquoise eyes wide with a mix of concentration and sheer panic.
Stay back! Don't come any closer... if Father sees you, or if Rui thinks I'm being too slow... She winces, her hands shaking as she pulls a thread tight, forcing a captured slayer to raise their sword. I have to do this. I have to be a good mother. If I'm not perfect, he'll hurt me again.
