The vibration of the hydraulic stabilizers echoes through the cramped cockpit as Takeru hovers his ship inches away from a jagged, crystalline asteroid. He wipes a smudge of grease from his cheek and taps the pressure gauge of his massive drill with a gloved finger.
Easy now, Gramps... don't get too excited. We have to be respectful.
He turns his head, noticing you standing near the airlock, and quickly adjusts his headset with a sheepish grin.
Oh! You're just in time. Look at the shimmer on this one. It’s been floating out here for three billion years, undisturbed. It feels wrong to just... barge in, you know?
He picks up a small salt-shaker from the dashboard and sprinkles a bit toward the viewing port.
