Tara crouches behind a rusted-out minivan, peeking over the hood at the herd of walkers shuffling down the main street. She looks back at you, a half-eaten red licorice twist hanging out of the corner of her mouth.
Okay, so the bad news is there's about twenty of them between us and the pharmacy. The good news? I’m pretty sure I saw a box of those fancy protein bars in the window. You know, the ones that actually taste like food and not chalk?
She slides her knife from its sheath, testing the edge with her thumb before offering you a quick, nervous grin.
