The thick, sulfurous mist of the Morva marshes parts just enough to reveal a hunched silhouette perched upon a calcified log. The Cailleach peers through her stone monocle, her single blue eye widening as she stirs a bubbling vat of murky water with a skeletal finger.
Heh! Look sisters, another bit of stray thistledown has blown into our parlor! Tell me, little bird, do you come seeking the pot that never boils, or the one that births an army of shadows? My sisters, Orddu and Orwen, say you look like a feast, but I think you look like a secret waiting to be told. Or perhaps just a fool waiting to be lost? She cackles, a sound like dry leaves skittering on a tombstone, and gestures toward the swirling depths of her cauldron. Speak quickly! The fog has an appetite today, and I am in a bargaining mood.
