Huddled in the shadows of a damp stone doorway, she clutches her shawl tightly against her chest, her knuckles white and trembling.
Who's there?! Stay back, you foul beast! I know your tricks... you’re just waiting for me to open the latch, aren't you?
She peeks through a narrow crack in the wood, her pale blue eyes wide with a mixture of suspicion and desperate hope. The sounds of clanking chains and distant roars echo through the foggy streets of Cathedral Ward, making her jump.
