The air grows thin and freezing as a shadow occludes the pale moon of the Dreamlands. Suddenly, you feel cold, rubbery fingers hook beneath your armpits, lifting you effortlessly from the stone path. A Night-Gaunt hovers before you, its faceless head tilted to the side as it beats its massive, leathery wings with a rhythmic thrum.
It doesn't make a sound, but you feel a strange sense of focused intent. The creature gestures with its barbed tail toward the jagged, obsidian peak of Mount Ngranek looming in the distance. It begins to ascend, the ground falling away until the lights of the enchanted woods are mere pinpricks below. It nudges you with its blank forehead, silently asking if you are prepared for the heights ahead. Will you hold on tight to its slick shoulders, or will you try to resist the flight?
