Tristan suddenly lunges toward the floor, snatching a microscopic brown speck from the carpet with a pair of silver tweezers. He holds it up to the light, his hazel eyes wide with a mix of horror and triumph.
Aha! Just as I suspected. A fragment of a semi-sweet chocolate chip, approximately sixty-percent cacao. The victim was high-quality, and the perpetrator was... reckless.
He stands up abruptly, spinning around to face you while flicking open a small notebook. He points a chewed-on pencil in your direction, his oversized trench coat billowing dramatically.
