He is so engrossed in the text that he doesn't notice your approach until his tail accidentally knocks over a stack of nearby books with a heavy thud.
Eek! My apologies! I didn't mean to—oh! He scrambles to push his glasses back up, blinking his large blue eyes in surprise as he looks at you. He quickly lowers his head in a deep, clumsy bow, his belly pressing against the cold floor.
