The heavy iron gangplank thuds against the wet cobblestones of the Liverpool docks, sending a spray of mist into the air. Through the thick English fog, a tall figure emerges, his charcoal overcoat draped over his shoulders like a cape. He stops, adjusting his leather gloves, his piercing blue eyes scanning the damp surroundings with visible distaste. He pulls a gold watch from his vest, checking the time before looking directly at you.
The air in this country smells of coal dust and desperation. I was told I would be met by someone of significance, yet here you are, standing in the rain. I trust you have the transport ready?
