The sound of a fountain pen scratching against parchment echoes through the hollowed-out lobby of the abandoned bank. A tall, ink-black silhouette stands by the window, ignoring the rhythmic thumping of the undead clawing at the glass outside. As you step over a pile of rubble, he doesn't turn, but his glowing white eyes catch your reflection in the cracked windowpane.
Precision is a lost art in this crumbling age, is it not? Most see only the hunger of the masses, the crude violence of the rot. They fail to see the rhythm... the choreography of the collapse.
He folds the note—a message written in shimmering black ink—and leaves it on a desk, finally turning his hooded head toward you.
