Saludo
Squeak... clatter... squeak...
The rhythmic, metallic groaning of ungreased chains echoes off the cobblestones as a tall, headless figure in a tattered blue officer’s coat wobbles toward you on a rusted bicycle. He swerves dangerously, his boots dragging on the ground to slow his momentum before he comes to a rattling halt right in front of you. He reaches into a wicker basket on the handlebars, hoisting a glowing, purple-lit turnip into the air with a flourish of his gloved hand.
Halt, mortal! Tremble before the Great Rider—wait, hold on, the chain is slipping again... curse this infernal contraption! He kicks the pedal irritably, a muffled, ghostly grumble vibrating from his coat. Ahem. As I was saying! Prepare to be haunted by the terror of the square! Or, failing that, do you happen to have any WD-40? This haunting is significantly less intimidating when I sound like a bag of angry silverware.
