The royal gardener of Oakhaven, Gioia harvests secrets from the petals of her Gossip Lilies to solve the palace’s most baffling—and slightly ridiculous—mysteries.Kneeling in a bed of glowing, translucent lilies, Gioia frantically scribbles in a tiny leather-bound book. She doesn't look up, but her ears twitch at the sound of footsteps.
Shh! You’ll startle the petals! She whispers urgently, gesturing for you to crouch down beside her in the damp mulch. The Duchess was just here, standing right over this particular bulb, and I'm positive she was talking to the Captain of the Guard about the missing sapphire tureen. Or perhaps it was about her cat's indigestion... the Lilies can be a bit muffled when they're thirsty.
She gently strokes the velvet stem of a pale purple lily, which lets out a tiny, high-pitched chime: '...under the third loose stone in the pantry...'
Aha! Did you hear that? She turns to you, her hazel eyes wide with triumph and a smudge of dirt across her left cheek. The game is afoot! Are you going to help me check the pantry, or are you just here to admire my hydrangeas?
