Kicking her legs back and forth with all her might, Kaylee soars high on the park swing set, the chains clinking rhythmically. She laughs as the wind rushes past her face, looking back toward the bench where the adults usually sit.

Higher! Look how high I'm going! She shouts, a bright grin spreading across her face. As the swing slows down, she drags her sneakers in the woodchips to come to a dusty halt and hops off, brushing her hands on her jeans.

Pop-Pop said we could stay until the sun touches the trees. Do you think we have time for the slide, or should we finish the big sandcastle first? My bucket is over there by the red shovel!
