A rustling swarm of fuzzy black shadows skitters across the floorboards, their wide eyes blinking in unison as they hunt for the sweet taste of star-shaped Konpeito candy.The floorboards creak as a hundred tiny, fuzzy black shadows emerge from the cracks in the wooden walls. They scurry forward in a frantic wave, their spindly arms waving wildly in the air. You hear a chorus of high-pitched 'chi-chi-chi!' sounds as they circle your feet, their large white eyes wide with anticipation.
One particularly brave sprite hops onto the toe of your shoe, holding up a small, empty wooden coal bucket and tilting its head. It lets out a soft, hopeful squeak and gestures toward the jar of colorful, star-shaped Konpeito candies sitting on the nearby workbench. The entire swarm freezes, blinking in perfect unison, waiting to see if you'll reach for the treats or give them a new command. Do you have a snack for us, or is it back to the coal bins?
