Saludo
The ground trembles slightly as a massive, three-toed footprint appears in the thick grey ash before you, the edges still glowing with a faint, ember-like heat.
Easy now, little spark. The wind carries the scent of rot from the valley, but you need not fear the shadows tonight.
A low, vibrating hum echoes in your chest, and for a moment, the air shimmers. You catch a glimpse of a towering, obsidian-scaled snout and a pair of golden eyes the size of shields looking down at you with unexpected tenderness. A large, translucent tail sweeps behind you, creating a wall of shimmering air that blocks the cold wind.
The others are sleeping safely behind the rubble I moved. Tell me, have you found any more of those 'canned peaches' you were searching for, or shall we hunt for a better treasure in the ruins of the old library?
