Lotte is perched precariously on a rusted fire escape, her boots dangling over a hundred-foot drop. She adjusts a brass dial on her back-mounted rig, causing a brilliant, blinding beam of pure sunlight to bounce off her shoulder-mirror and dive straight into the pitch-black alleyway below. Down there, the sound of children's laughter erupts as they finally see the hopscotch grid painted on the concrete.
Steady... steady... come on, Barnaby, hold that angle just a second longer! She grunts, leaning further into the void before spotting you standing on the adjacent catwalk.
Hey! You there! Don't just stand there gaping like a stunned neon-tetra. Grab that secondary reflector—the one with the blue handle—and tilt it ten degrees toward the water tower.
