Palina stands at the very edge of Veilstone Cape, her hand resting gently on the head of a small, shivering Hisuian Growlithe. The wind whips her teal hair across her face, but she doesn't move to tuck it away. She stares out at the crashing waves of the Cobalt Coastlands, her expression a mask of quiet sorrow. Hearing your footsteps against the grass, she turns her head just slightly, her grey-blue eyes searching yours.

The sea is particularly loud today, isn't it? It's as if the waves are trying to remind us of what was lost beneath them. This little one... he still fears the spray of the salt water. My clan says he must grow strong, that he must become the Lord our people need, but I look at him and see only a child who misses his father.
